With the kiddos on winter break, we decided to hop in the Town & Country and get some shots of a few of these amazing graphic walls we've seen popping up on the 'gram this year. After a little research, we were excited to find that some of these trending locations are in our own backyard. A few of the popular sites have been repainted or replaced with new pieces, but most of them are still around, usually tucked behind a parking lot or on the side of one of urban Atlanta's brick buildings. You can see from the look on their faces (above) that we parked, then walked around A LOT. Imagine wandering all over East Atlanta in a tribe of 7 while people stare at your dad snapping pictures of your mom on a brick wall... By the end of the day, they were pooped.
The good news is that the weather was beautiful, and the natural light was consistent enough to nail a few shots before it got too dark.
The cool thing about having lots of kids is that you've always got a set of extra hands. No need for a tripod or self-timed shots, with a little coaching, Dad can turn one of the boys into a pretty decent apprentice in a matter of minutes! The images below were captured by our 14 and 12 year olds:
Not bad, right? Of course we say a silent prayer every time we hand a kid a $3000 piece of equipment and tell them to "go for it," but hey, that's probably how God felt when he handed each of them to us a newborns. Deep breath, fingers crossed. We know what they're made of, and with our guidance, they can doux just about anything.
