Oui Shoot: Otis' "Big O" Ranch
Today's project was a photo shoot with a really cool kid: Jarred Andrews, grandson of the late Otis Redding. After being invited to The Redding's "Big O" Ranch this past summer, I was hype when I got the call requesting a photo session for Jarred's Senior portraits. Having seen the property, I had already envisioned the possibilities of what I could capture.
Remember back in the day, when you were grounded for the weekend? Our son, Zion, is on lock-down at the moment, and with Maya feeling under the weather, I figured this was a great opportunity to keep him close and use him as my assistant for the day. He was my stand-in for the test shots while Jarred got dressed, and I put him charge of my equipment set-up.
He did pretty well. I'm sure he was a little miserable being on "restriction", but I must say, he was a good sport, and to my surprise, a pretty decent model. I'll be posting a few shots from Jarred's session here in a week or so, but for now, I'll share Maya's favorite:
